The Richard Garner Memorial Committee has selected the two scholarship recipients for the 2019-2020 school year.  The process consisted of an application, oral board interview, and review of letters of reference, academic performance, and community service/outreach involvement.  After the process was completed, we have selected Wyatt Bomkamp and Andrew Eyler.

Wyatt Bomkamp is currently a senior at Parkview High School in Orfordville, WI.  Wyatt is a three-sport athlete, volunteers with three different organizations within his community, and is set to graduate in June with an overall GPA of 3.6.  Wyatt is also a cadet with the Orfordville Fire Department and has already taken various fire related courses at Blackhawk Technical College during his senior year.  Wyatt has been accepted and will be enrolled at Madison Area Technical College this fall in the Fire Protection Technician Program.

Andrew Eyler is currently a senior at Monticello High School.  Andrew is a two-sport athlete, a member of Monticello Student Council, an active member with many volunteer organizations within the area, and he is set to graduate in June with an overall GPA of 3.59.  Andrew also has been a member of the Monticello Fire Department since 2017.  He has been accepted and will be enrolled at Fox Valley Technical College this Fall in the Fire Protection Technician Program.

This was a very competitive process with many qualified and worthy candidates.  If anyone has any questions regarding the process, or would like information regarding next year’s application, please do not hesitate to send us any questions that you may have.  Thanks for your time.
